You MUST BELIEVE that Jesus is The Son of God. John 8:24
John 8:24
24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins
.
We must understand that Jesus Christ is Deity - A member of the Godhead.
John 1:14
4 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
We have to BELIEVE in the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ. While we were sinners Christ died for us -
Romans 5:8
8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Then he arose defeating Death - 1st Corinthians 15:54-55
In the book of Mark , Lord Jesus Christ appeared to the Apostles after his resurrection - Jesus Said "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;"
Mark 16:10-16
10 And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.
11 And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.
12 After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country.
13 And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them.
14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
